Au d\u00e9part le ciel est gris et en milieu de journ\u00e9e c&rsquo;est le d\u00e9luge. Nous nous arr\u00eatons \u00e0 Tawarera pour la nuit, un caf\u00e9 qui ferme \u00e0 16 h, des toilettes publiques et rien d&rsquo;autre. Le g\u00e9rant du caf\u00e9 nous propose une cabane pour nous abriter et c&rsquo;est au sec mais avec des temp\u00e9ratures avoisinant les 9 \u00b0 que nous nous endormons, r\u00e9veill\u00e9s pendant la nuit par un possum qui voulait aussi profiter du g\u00eete. Le lendemain la pluie continuant nous d\u00e9cidons de faire d&rsquo;une traite les prochains kilom\u00e8tres jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 Napier. On s&rsquo;est quand m\u00eame fait une petite frayeur en descendant une jolie pente qui arrivait sur un pont car arriv\u00e9s au pont apr\u00e8s un coup d&rsquo;\u0153il vers la rivi\u00e8re on s&rsquo;est dit, ouh la la, faut pas qu&rsquo;un camion arrive par derri\u00e8re ou en face. Le pont \u00e9tait prodigieusement haut. \/>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Nous arrivons \u00e0 Bay of View quelques kilom\u00e8tres avant Napier et restons l\u00e0 pour la nuit. Le lendemain c&rsquo;est par la cote que nous arriverons dans la ville et par un circuit de pistes cyclables.<\/p>\n<h1>Napier<\/h1>\n<p>3 f\u00e9vrier 1931, Napier subit un terrible tremblement de terre de magnitude 7.8. La r\u00e9gion est d\u00e9vast\u00e9e de Gisborne \u00e0 Hastings.<\/p>\n<p>La ville est reconstruite en \u00e0 peine deux ans exactement au m\u00eame endroit dans un style Art Deco. L&rsquo;architecte Louis Hay a \u00e9t\u00e9 l&rsquo;auteur de nombreux projets. C&rsquo;est une vraie ville baln\u00e9aire avec sa promenade le long de la mer, son avenue avec de grands palmiers, son spa avec multiples piscines, ses jardins tir\u00e9s \u00e0 quatre \u00e9pingles C&rsquo;est par une de ces belles journ\u00e9es que nous partons faire le Rimutaka Rail Trail. La pente est supportable et passons 3 tunnels, le Prices Tunnel, le Siberian Tunnel puis le Summit Tunnel. sommes deux \u00e0 pousser les v\u00e9los. L\u00e0 haut petite pause bien m\u00e9rit\u00e9e et descente sur une quinzaine de kilom\u00e8tres en pente douce pour profiter du paysage.
